What Makes a Good Estate Agent?

That's easy, what about an agent that:

  • Sells your home in the timescale you wanted?
  • Gets you the best price?
  • Takes excellent photographs?
  • Writes a fab description?
  • Gives you sound advice on how to present you home?
  • Has sensible pricing?
  • Displays your property on all the major portals?
  • Financially qualifies any potential buyers?
  • Helps you to negotiate you next purchase?
  • Has fantastic communication?

These are just some of the things that most people would say they thought were the attributes to look for in a great estate agent. And they would be right of course! However, what about after all the above — what about after your sale is agreed?

Does your estate agent leave everything to the solicitors and simply move onto the next sale? Job done — after all, in some cases they’ve already been paid. Their motivation is over.

Did you know that in the UK over 30% of sales don’t actually make it to completion, even more so since the pandemic hit. Over 30%! That’s huge and that’s why its incredibly important to pick your estate agent wisely.

Hogg & Hogg work to keep the chain together
  • A GREAT estate agent will look after your property from day one of marketing to the final day of completion.
  • A GREAT estate agent will chase the sale and chain continuously, be aware of any potential problems and will help alleviate any issues before they become big problems!

Your estate agent should be the go between, the negotiator, the peace maker. They should do everything to keep the sale together and keep everyone happy.

At Hogg & Hogg, we place huge emphasis on the sales chasing part of every property sale, with regular updates and easy communication. We are in this together. We want to see you moved! After all we don’t get paid until you complete – we are very motivated to get you into your new home!

Keep safe,

Helen
